I think I have been the most broke I have been since I left college lol. Good thing we have SOME food to tie us over till we get paid on Friday but quite literally, we have $20 in our bank account.

Last month for rent in our old place! This next year will be good for Shaun an I as we pay off debt and figure out what we want to do with our lives (assuming the Mayan Calendar is not correct and everything will be downhill in 2 years anyways). The weird thing is that I actually have to start packing. I’m really just considering selling almost everything in a garage sale. Shaun has more days off than I do and will be able to handle that more easily than I will. Selling a hall table, couch, bookshelf, various knicknacks and most of our crappy pots and pans. I’m ready for new things that are not hand me downs.

Depending on how the economy and our jobs go we may be looking for a house in Kyle or Manor. We’ll see. I’m kinda set on an older house with a small porch. I wonder what my actual choices will be.

On a side note of all my complaining, we were approved to go to BlizzCon so our hotel and plane tickets are now taken care of. All we need to do is show up. How exciting!

We were planning on heading out to Hamilton Pool tomorrow (never been) but after a peek at our checking account, I think we’re just going to head up to Kris and Dustin’s for some free swimming at an apartment pool. The fact we actually have 3 days off and no money to do anything is just killing me lol. But whatev, I have a new computer and we have the opportunity to go to BlizzCon. I am in no spot to be complaining.

Heading to my first personal training session tomorrow in a few weeks. I’m already dying from lifting weights last night. I can only imagine how terrible this will be.

And for today, in honor of the rain that hit us today, I thought I would post a joyous rain picture (because we had thunder so loud this morning it shook the house and woke us up… it was AWESOME).

Spent my lunch break today getting affidavits notarized (and reminded me of the drama) and I decided that to treat myself, it was giant steamy bowl of udon day… and I polished the whole damn thing off.

Still no word on @Persiankiwi and it appears as though other Twitterers that my friends were following have disappeared as well. @IranianPrincess had their entire profile go missing. *poof*

Need to find a way to destress. Thinking of going in for acupuncture soon.

And here is the song I’ve been listening to all day:

Well, my fears have somewhat been confirmed by Anonymous. I was browsing the forums and apparently they have even heard that many Twitterers in Iran had been arrested.

http://iran.whyweprotest.net/keeping-your-anonymity-iran/3248-anonymous-tweeting.html

You can find the forum there on how to keep your tweets anonymous. Pass it on to anyone who needs help getting the word out from Tehran.

Been following the Iran ordeal through Tweets. I always get a little freaked out when the people I follow don’t update every few hours.

It appears as though the worst has happened. @Persiankiwi has stopped responding after very ominous Tweets.

My thoughts are with you @Persiankiwi. I hope you are safe.

Ack! It’s already the 25th? Where did my June go?

Been keeping busy! Mandi and Audrey have left for Florida and now Shaun, Brent (my brother in law) and I have the entire house to ourselves AND we have to somehow start managing all of the properties under the Kuschel family domain. No pressure. But I am happy that Mandi has the opportunity to get some much needed R&R.

Wednesday I got to spend time with my dad and sister. I came across a sad realization that the three of us (which at one point I viewed as the Three Musketeers) had not had a day to ourselves since my dad had left El Paso 10 years ago. I was a really awesome day to just had our dad to ourselves to have a belated Father’s Day.  As a side note I still rock socks suck balls at bowling.

Wed night I pushed John out the door to celebrate his 22nd year of birth with the inaugural Mexican Martinis from Trudy’s. Really. No birthday is complete without starting out with some serious TexMex in your belly. Apparently I have been a meager drinker because one knocked me on my ass for the night. Srsly. John and I (he was just as tipsy after one as well) giggled all the way to the car as my dearest permanent designated driver dearest husband drove us to Halcyon for some coffee and s’mores. Yes. I said s’mores. They give you this quaint tray with marshmallows, graham crackers and 2 hershey’s bars and some sticks to go to town with roasting your marshmallows over the flame in the middle of the tray.

I feel like I’m getting old because I was exausted by 12:30. Ugh. We watched this semi terribad cover band for a little while and went home to watch the pilot episode of Dexter. It looked really interesting. Too bad I was dozing in and out during the whole thing though.

Oh… and today I got a new computer. Its pretty. I’m currently in the process of loading up WoW onto it.

I have included a few pictures of the Halcyon adventure. I do apologize because it was extremely dark in there.

My mind is already in weekend mode. All I want to do is lounge by the pool with a nice drink.

Three days off this week! Which actually translates to 1 day off since we babysit, but I’m trying not to be a negative Nancy about it.

Babysitting tomorrow, seeing my dad on Wednesday and Johns birthday Wed night, and probably lounging by the pool on Thursday.

I am constantly in awe how technology has changed the ability to protect human rights. While the govt in Iran has cut off all cell phone usage, internet access, reporting, etc., we are still able to find out what is going on. Anonymous, the hacker group, has assisted some Iranians in successfully telling them how to still gain internet access to get the word out. That is so awesome.

Also, SIM cards have been taken out of some phones to reduce tracking. I am constantly looking at my Twitter (I am watching an Iranian girl) and Facebook has been getting frequent updates.

As of right now 25 journalists and bloggers have been arrested. Its all just freakin’ nuts. I just really hope that I would have the courage to do the same thing if it came down to it.

*Just gotta catch a break.*

What a year it has been – and most of the bad stuff has been in the past few days. My sister in law was arrested on a phony police report (and now faces up to a year in jail on false charges) and now, two days later, her baby (my niece) had to be rushed to the hospital due to a seizure.

My niece is okay. Apparently kids can have seizures from just a regular joe fever. Needless to say it freaked us all out. I’m glad someone was there to immediately call 911.

So I apologize. I may freak out soon. My stress has caused a serious bout of insomnia and we all just need a few things to go right. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

What I learned this weekend.

You can be arrested if someone files a police report saying you beat them up – regardless if the report is true or not. Also, the detective handling the case doesn’t even have to talk to the witnesses or the person about to be arrested.

True story.

Drama Llama. Stop following me.

My head is about to explode. Sadly, I’ve been here before. On the cusp between bad allergies and a full blown sinus infection with bronchitis to follow. I guess I will add that to my list when I try to get an appt to a doctor on Monday sometime.

So some updates I guess:

Yanagi (the new sushi place) – was pretty good. The sushi rolls were beautiful and overall amazing for the prices. They currently do not have a liquor license so until further notice it is BYOB. The table next to me offered me a beer as well (I love Austin) and I gladly accepted. Independence – Bootlegger is really awesome.

True Blood – I currently have mixed feelings on it because I feel like it deviates from the Sookie Stackhouse series ALOT. I’m going to continue watching it to see if I get hooked. I think HBO could have done a better job.

Tubing – Was awesome. There was 7 of us total of the 80 or so people that were invited the past week – which is fine. We had a blast in our little group and I’m glad David had to go home because poor Shaun would have been more lobster looking than he already is. The river was a bit low and the rapids were really lame but we made the best of having to walk our tubes over the rocks. I’m a bit sunburned but was all good.

Somehow Shaun and I peeled ourselves off the couch and went to have a beer with Joe and Jamie at Opal Divine’s that night. Was really weird that it was a ghost town on a Sat night due to the ROT rally.

I woke up this morning feeling like ass. Damn allergies. At some point over the next few days I’ll get those pictures posted up of the wonderful time we had.
