And my final update. This family was super easy to work with and they were the ones to pop the cherry on my new Nikon D300S.

Book People Christmas Party 2010
I know I am super behind but I’m posting everything from the past few months. Below you will find the Book People Christmas party I did back in late November. I had a blast! Thank you Ali for the opportunity to do this.
Here are a few of my favs:

Bobby, Kelly, and mini-Bobby
It has been a while!
I apologize in regards to the lack of communication on this blog as most of my energies has been spent on my jewel of the Nile, Over Yonderlust, a travel blog chronicling the preparations and adventures of Shaun and I in regards to our *hopefully* one year backpacking trip through Central/South America.
I have been taking on a few projects to further my photography career. I am about to kick it into high gear as we go careening into the holidays.
Here are a few peeks of some pictures I have taken over the past few months:
And I did an amazing fundraiser for the Elgin Humane Society:
I’m covering the Book People holiday party tomorrow evening – that should be a blast!
I’ll try to keep up a bit more. <3
Balcones Burner Bash
Went out to the Balcones Burner Bash today at the Balcones Recycling Center on East 6th Street. Was an awesome show of great graff artists, amazing break dancers, and bad ass DJs.
Check out some of the previews of the set I took below. You can find the full set here.

Shaun and I have decided to do one of the most awesome/irresponsible choices of our life.
In May (hopefully), we will be leaving the states for a few months while we wander Central/South America. Hostel hopping, bus traveling, yummy food gobbling experience.
My mom has a friend who spends a month in Peru every year. I’m hoping we can meet up with her so she can give a few suggestions on what to check out in Peru besides Machu Picchu.
Of course, our main focus right now is Egypt in November. We haven’t really booked anything yet – basically Shaun’s motorcycle = our trip. Its up to him to get it ready to sell so we can make the plans final.
I am so excited. I really need to do this. My soul is asking for it.
And yes, for all you impatient people – after that we will figure out when Shaun and I will have kids. We’ll see. I need to experience the world before we bring another person into it.

Today is 7/8/9!
Was waiting around the house for coworkers to call to head out to Hamilton’s Pool… enough waiting and we headed out on our own.
The hike in wasn’t bad (although my knee is a little mad at me) and the water felt fantastic. We actually didn’t stay long – next time we plan on making it a day trip with a cooler included.
Worth the drive, in my opinion.

TGIF…. even though its Monday for most of you folks. I think I’m going to spend at least a few hours by the pool in a faux Happy Hour. I know one of the days I’m going to waste throwing myself an awesome pity party with food and booze – lookin’ forward to it. I’m currently unsure how I will PAY for said party, but damn it. I NEED IT.
Fourth of July was kinda what took me over the edge. I know everyone was broke this year- but besides a quick “what are you doing for the 4th?” from my sister, NO ONE invited me over, to hang out, watch movies, watch paint dry. I did have a beer with my bestfriend John when I went over to the old house (lease is not up until July). He helps make my days so much better.
I quickly noticed when I got home that night that I have been repressing some major issues that I need to work out somehow and I’m really not sure how to accomplish it.
- My self esteem/self worth is practically non-existent. I guess I must be a really good actress.
- I still have alot of issues with my mom – past, present, future?
- I hate where my life is right now. The economy sucks and there is no opportunity for people like me to use my degree or even search for a better paying job that makes me feel like I have self worth in the community. I’m sorry, but answering emails all day is hardly soul-fulfilling.
- I wish I could go to school again. I hate being stagnant and I love to learn but being as I’m poor and already have college loans coming out my ass, its not going to happen.
- I’m poor and work for crap wages. ‘Nuff said.
I think what really brought the house down was all the rediculous things happening in my life – from my sister-in-law being falsely arrested t0 our car’s radiator hose blowing off while driving to work on the 4th of July… all within a month. Seriously?
On the positive side:
I have decided that David Beckham is some fine man-meat. He has made my very small list of uber sexy men. 1 of 4:
Orlando Bloom

Adrien Brody (don’t ask- he just is)

Brad Pitt

and David Beckham. Yum.

So sue me. I become a 14 year old girl sometimes.
